A number of black candles sit on my mantle

White linens in my closet

During fall I wear corduroy on my collar

I can hear my cheap watch ticking when in bed

I used to have a case of expensive ones

At least I don’t need to wind my cheap watch

Or shake it around if I haven’t worn it

I used to keep a white candle on my bed stand

I used to fixate on my bank account balance

I’ve since reset my life
