The feeling of being late 

Looking at the time and realizing you’ll never make it on time 

Your heart beats in the center of your chest 

Doing two things, one with each hand 

While rested I could have used a little less rest 

My hair is wet and your shoes are only tied with a single knot 

My shirt is unevenly tucked in, your shirt is more wrinkled than usual 

A puddle of coffee in my cup holder

Coffee cup stains on a tan manila folder 

I’ve got dandruff on my black shirt 

I’ve got dandruff on my shoulder 

The feeling of being late sucks 

It’s just getting worse as I get older
